Advice on how to mount this crystal?

So i have had this chunk of quartz (i think its quartz at least) and wanted to try and make a single crystal chamber for a staff.

and was thinking of using the chassis disk that locks into the hilt pieces on either end of the coupler to hold the mount to the coupler and so i can put LEDs on either end.

now comes the hard part...how to secure the crystal to the chassis? my first thought was just using wire and wrapping the crystal a few times and soldering/tie the wires to the OD spacers that will go through the coupler to each disk...will this work? im not going to be using this thing to duel, mostly just for looks and swinging it around outside but not to hit anything.
Its just an odd shaped crystal and was wondering what the experts/more-experienced-then-I people had thoughts on for this?

EDIT: and i feel dumb for realizing i most likely put this in the wrong place on the forums...my bad sorry...
