Thread: What's the deal with blade tips

Question What's the deal with blade tips

I really like the 3/4" blades but can you get bullet tips for them? (cos they do look better). I've only seen round tips, either pre made or separately. The 7/8" and 1" sure no problem but the 3/4" nothing!

There used to be bullet tips available. I guess he's not offering them any more. Not too many using 3/4 anymore. They're too flimsy for dueling. They do look better on a skinny hilt though.

Ok. So if I split the difference and go with a 7/8" blade does it need a reducer cos i assume it won't sit tight in the BH and a blade retention screw will push it off centre. I don't see anything in the store other than the 1" to 3/4" reducer

You can use a small section of thinwalled 1" blade stock as an adapter for the 7/8" blades.

If you don't have any thinwall scraps, shoot an email to Tim before you place your order. I'm sure he's got some cut pieces available.

Thanks SS I will do that. Although, if the force is with me, this might work......Attachment 11512

Get out your calipers. If that material is 1/16" thick, it should do the job nicely. You might need to make a hole in it for the blade retention screw to pass through, but I don't otherwise see an issue.
