Thread: Putting a Windu Soundboard into custom hilt

Thanks, I'm quite glad I have run into a wall at this point.
The 14500 now works, it seems it just wasn't fully charged. I can very much live with the fact I have to charge it more often.

For the lens, the problem isn't the width, but the height... So I would have to trim the bottom or top... I guess I'll just try sanding it and smooting it again at the end. A slightly scratched lens is better than no lens I guess...

So waiting for my order now, as the speaker holder and the activation box (just for show) are in there. Anyway, it's working now.

Yeah, don't scratch the lens. Even small scratches make a huge difference.

I'd repost the lens question as a separate post just to try and get advice for that specifically. I honesty don't know if you can get a shorter lens....

It sounds like you have time to research it while you wait on the mail.

How short (tall) does this lens have to be? Have you measured? That'll help answer the questions.
So certain are you; always with you it cannot be done.
Hear you nothing that I say?

    I can't really measure it,
but when you look at the picture, there isn't any space really...

When I use the normal lens holder assembly i can't even make the threaded parts connect, when I make the compromise of not srewing it together all the way i can maybe make do with 3mm less than it is right now, (when I use kind of a trim ring to virtually extend the neck area) but not more.
Thanks for the help, I'll see if I can find something as well, and if not, well, then it simply isn't as bright

This is the result so far:

In theory you might be able to EVENLY wear down the top surface of the lens a few mm by rubbing the flat top surface of the lens on 200-400 grit sandpaper. But then you'd have to smooth it out by progressing up to 1500 or even 2000 grit paper, followed by a buffing wheel. But it all depends on how much room ther is between the focusing surface of the lens and the top of the lens.

Obviously, I don't recommend you do this. But it's up to you to try or not, and lenses only cost a few dollars each. I still wd ask others here if they know of a shorter lens that'll work.

Yeah, I might do that at some point, because as you say, lenses aren't that expensive.
For now, I'm quite happy and just waiting for the activation box to complete the exterior design.
