    Default switch question

    How would one go about mounting this switch

    is there a way to mount them without The ring?

    You can mount them without the ring from the shop. But you will have to fabricate something similar. I've seen builds that used scrap blade material and pvc. I've done one out of a small disc cut from a dowel for my build. I need to make a v2.0 and then I'll add some pics of it to my build thread.

    The post of the switch will keep the switch in alignment with the hole pretty well, the ring provides support once the switch is pressed.

    I got 2 from s guy and have no clue how to mount or even wire one

    Use the two prongs on the same side; the other two are redundant. As for mounting, I think that's the silver tactile switch listed under the commonly used bits thread, so drill a 13/64" hole (snug fit) and gently cram them in - they can easily come apart if you twist them, so get then set in position and push them into place w a screwdriver or some such. Haven't had one come free yet, but you can also wedge a bit of plastic tubing (hobby store) behind it to the wall of a box if it's mounted through the wall of one.
