    Hello all so i haven't been
    on the saber scene since el was the end all be
    all of blades so im playingcatch up so here we go.
    first off the constant current driver sold by tcss
    Are all of the functions pre programmed or does it need to be connected
    To a computer? secondly has anyone tried using translucent
    Black film to darken a red led to a more blood red
    Color?

    You can buy a deep red LED, would probably work out nicer looking and brighter. Black film over the LED would just darken it's brightness I would imagine.

    You can do what I did and use a LEDengin deep red. I run mine at 1100ma, but I think it's rated for 1A. It's bright, but deep enough to look movie accurate, unlike many other "red" leds that end up looking orange. Hope this helps.

    I was planning on using a deep red ked i know tcss carried a luxeon branded feep rrd but looking at ledengins web sit none of their emmiters are star mounted can i still use them?

    That would depend on how good you are at surface mount soldering, and whether or not you have a reflow oven.

    Typically the answer is no. If you have those skills and equipment, then you may get different results.

    I purchased my LEDengin deep red from Mouser. If I'm going against rules here, please someone let me know or remove my comment.
