    Default Indicator on LED

    For a CF or PC I assume it's the same in this case.
    Can you solder the negative of the LED to the recharge port(where the board negative goes) instead of directly to the board negative ?
    I can light a small city with my board

    Why would you want to do that? There are other GND spots on the board.

    Because with the Color extender and the negative from the recharge port and then the indicator led that'd be 3 wires twisted together going to one pad.

    I guess I will have to re read the manual for other ground spots I don't remember seeing any other ones.

    oh can the ground for the accent LEDs also be used for the Indicator LED?

    Yes. Plus no one is stopping you from attaching the one wire to the negative, and branching out from there.
