Thread: Will the heatsink fit?

    Default Will the heatsink fit?

In my current saber design, I have noticed a possible mistake.

The heatsink seems to protrude into the choke. While the MHS builder shows the heatsink to fit snug inside the choke, the shop contradicts this visualization.

I have chosen Heat Sink V3 for my saber, which has a diameter of 1.130 inches as shown in the image above. The inner diameter for the choke appears to be about 0.75 inches, based on the MHS builder.

Do I need to get a different heatsink? Flat style, "old style"?

You'll be fine. The inner diameter of choke pieces are .8" and the modern heat sinks are .79. It'll be snug, but it will fit. And the bottom drawing you're showing is the aluminum LED holder part, NOT the copper part.
