Hi everyone, I saw a similar thread, but the circumstances seemed different, so I decided to make a new one.
For reference, I'm using an MHS v1 type 1 hilt and a type 17 blade holder. Of course, because of the uneven design of the blade holder, I used some clocking washers and it matched up well, but that made a bit of space between the holder and the hilt making the LED module click around. I thought maybe I can put a thin rubber band in there to buffer that space; unfortunately that didn't work.
This is where the problem starts: I tried to put the holder back on to the hilt, but now it doesn't match up properly. Not to mention that when I screw it on, it makes this scrape-y/scratchy/squeaky noise, leading me to believe that the threading is damaged.
Just to make sure, I screwed the blade holder on to the other side, and it went on smoothly, so I'm convinced that the damage is on the hilt.
I apologize for the wall of text, but this is the question: is there a way to fix this, or am I SoL and should replace it?
