They still do I believe. It was an external one that part was in the hilt and a wire connected it. Expensive and didn't sound what you were paying for.

I alwase loved that hilt. and the vt-900
It is pretty nice. I am eager to get started on it, but I have yet to hear from Tim about a blade holder that james3 mentioned.
