Thread: Attaching Covertec?

    Default Attaching Covertec?

I'm currently working on the design of my saber, and I want to know if I can install a covertec knob on this part:

    and how?
Light, Dark, two sides of the same coin. So why not use both?

    Default

Looking at the part in the Builder, there appears to be about 1/4" of full-depth metal between the female threading and the start of the male end, so you should be able to drop a screw into that area. It will, however, need to be dead center. The covertec knob would then lap over the male end onto the next part.

Alternatively, depending on what that extension is connecting to (assuming you're just using it to get 3/4" more length) you could bond it to the other piece with JB weld and then you'd have the full part length to use and could tap through the threads. You'd just never be able to separate the two components. Second alternate would be to shroud over the area, and screw the covertec to the shroud and leave the 3/4" piece alone below it. It all depends on your overall design...
