Yes and no. If you use the white with color discs, you will always end up with a dimmer blade than if you used an RGB LED and mixed the colors yourself.
It is a bit faster and easier to swap out colors with the discs, and it takes less electronics knowledge to do so. So there are tradeoffs.

Sorry for being a noob but what exactly is a rgb led ?
Red/Green/Blue multi-die LED. The Tri-Rebels in the store are an example. They have multiple LEDs on the same star, and you can power each one individually. It's more complex for the beginner, but they're the best way to get sabers with multiple colors.

Oh thanks i will be getting white and another color the and will use color disks too.
