Thread: 4 AA batery pack holder.

  1. #1

Default 4 AA batery pack holder.

I was looking around and couldn't find if you could use the the 4 AA battery holder with TrustFire Protected 3.7V 900mAh 14500 Lithium Battery without having it explode or something. Has anybody tried or is this an idiotic thing to do. I would rather learn from someone else's mistakes or triumphs.

They won't explode, but you'll end up with a 14.8v pack. That's more than enough to burn out any/all of the sound boards on the market, and far more than you'd need to run the commonly used LEDs.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

Thanks Silver Serpent. I was wondering about it because I saw this...

Those aren't the same thing. The pre made pack was specifically made to be 7.4V. the standard holder will give you the 14+ volts.

The interesting thing here is that you'd have enough voltage that you could run a tri-rebel in series with such a setup or even a quad.

Yes, as long as you don't use a soundboard of any type. The runtime would still stink though, compared to other solutions.

Ok, I was mainly looking to see if this would work with a petit crouton. I'm glad I asked because I'd hate to spend money on something that I can't use.

    Thanks a bunch fellahs.
