I just got my saber and I have a question can I adjust my led somehow because it's kinda hurting my eyes

use a blade or a blade plug to keep it shining directly in your eyes...

you could also try using a bigger resistor... reducing the mA should help...

Yeah, a bigger resistor (higher resistance) will make it dimmer.

This probably goes without saying, but it's good practice to not aim the business end of your saber at anyone's face without the blade or a plug installed. These high-powered LEDs can really mess up your eyeballs if stare directly at them.

Definitely NEVER look at a high-powered LED without protection. A blade plug, a blade, or at least a good pair of sunglasses while testing.

It also helps if you work in a well lit room. My green sabers are almost painful to look at in the dark, but don't bother me at all with the lights on.

What sound board are you using, if any? Some soundcards hace led drivers, which will allow you to adjust the current, and therefore, the brightness of the LED.

hmm bigger resistor you say but I'm using a "BuckPuck 1000mA 4-wire"? what can I do then?

I'm not using a soundboard.

you could switch it to the 700ma buckpuck, or remove the buck puck and just use a resistor.

It depends.

You'll need to know 3 things: The voltage of your battery pack (source voltage), the forward voltage of your LED (Vf), and the current you want to feed your LED. Plugging those three values into a resistor calculator (there's one in my signature) will give you an appropriate resistor.

With the 1000mA BuckPuck, you're giving the LED 1000mA of current. Reducing that number will reduce the brightness.

On another note: I think you're the first person I've seen on the forums who wants their saber to be *less* bright.
