    Default blade conector DIN

    Hi

    good Morning

I'm building my first lightsaber. And wanted to know if the LED "TCSS style" Battle blade 1 "OD takes DIN connector and if this is the case I would like to find some diagram showing how it is installed.

I understand that this blade takes a whole row of LEDs.

if anyone can advise me, thank you very much.

I would highly recommend checking out Slothfurnace's website: www.slothfurnace.com He has made a number of string blade sabers, and takes excellent step-by-step pictures of his work.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

if you are building your first saber I would highly suggest using one of the high powered LEDs that are sold in the store string blades are great but they require a LOT of work and using a single high powered LED will simplify your saber greatly.

Here's a tutorial on building string blades.

DIN connectors allow you to remove the blade like any connector. You use two pins if there is no scrolling effect, and 6 or 7 if you have a scrolling effect. You will need a board that handles scrolling like a Master Replicas board or a Crystal focus LF version.
    Good luck.

I've been searching recently for 9 pin connectors which would be needed if you wanted to use the LS board with FOC. I located some 9 pin inline mic connectors from an electronics supply website and have contacted them with a request for the datasheet. Once I have the exact measurements I will be designing a plug that could be fitted directly into the end of the blade itself to mount the female end of the connector, as well as a piece that would mount to your saber chassis for holding the male end.

Thanks, but I already found what I needed. Besides, this is an 8 pin connector and I needed 9. Vetco has been slow getting me the datasheet but I'm looking forward to posting the results.
