switch box 9

Can anyone tell me the minimum length double female section that switch box 9 can be mounted on? I seem to think I read it somewhere, but try as I might, now I cannot find it.

I want to have is mounted on a 3 inch MHS piece. Is that too short?

3 inch should work

3" is fine.. when in doubt check the MHS builder. I know not all boxes,etc are on there but a few of the common items are like the box 9. Switching to internal view and turning off "snap-to" will help.

I tried the MHS builder and it looked questionable. I know you cannot get too close the female threads.

depending on how you set up your saber it can work on a 2" section... My current build on the bench has box 9 on a 2" double female.


but that being said, it's not an easy task to make everything work right when you go through the threads, and i guarantee you'll void warrantee on the parts

that depends, if you don't need to take the two parts apart at that joint, you can locktight them together and drill through the threads... It's what I do for one of my sabers and it works well for me...
