MHS to 1.5" SInk Tube adapter

Anyone have an internal diameter on this piece? Going by the pictures, it looks like it sits right inside the sink tube. I, however, have no plumbing experience, and don't know if that 1.5" is OD or ID.

1.5" is the o.d. of the tube it fits inside, the o.d. of the adapter is 1.45". The I.d. of the adapter is 1.25".
