    Default LED Flashlight soundboard

    I found an Anakin LED flashlight with sound (no clash or flash, just hum) for dirt cheap. I'm not an electronics expert by any means, but I'd like to try and adapt the board for use in my next saber build (blue Luxeon Rebel Star).

    The flashlight runs on 4.5v (3xAAA) and contains only a speaker and 4 regular blue LEDs.



    The red/black go to the battery. Purple goes to what appears to be a momentary lever that's held in the circuit closed position just above the batteries. Green goes to a pushbutton momentary switch to turn on/off the flashlight. White goes to the speaker. Yellow/black goes to the LED module, which just appears to be for blue LEDs and resistors for them.

    There are no additional distinctive markings on the other side of the board.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    The principles of wiring that board should be similar. You only have a single LED(-) to wire to the transistor, and I'm not sure what the purple wires go to, but it should work. You may have to hardwire the two purple wire connections together.

    Cool anymore info on the flashlight. I might have need of a bunch of them for christmas.

    A blue lux is going to need 3.2-3.4v to run. What was the voltage of the flashlight? If its a 2 cell then you might not have enough juice to do it with out a power extender.

    He said 3AAA - which would be 4.5V - However, with that type of battery setup, the runtime will likely be terrible, and I don't know how bright it would be, AAA's don't pump out a whole lot of current.

    ok I guess i read it too fast and missed the last line. Should be able to use AA's with the right resistor/buckpuck

    It was one of these that I found at a local store. The package was damaged and I got a decent discount.

    It'll likely run just fine on a single li-ion. I know that's only 3.7v, but I'm running a pair of econo boards with a single li-ion each, and they appear to be quite similar to what you have there.
