That combo would most likely give you magenta, and not violet/purple. It's been a while since I used the Tri-Rebel (I usually use Crees), but they're close. Also, to keep the balance of colors over time, you'll probably end up having to put a resistor on the blue as well, a 2W 1ohm will work, and for a deeper purple, you may want something between 4-6ohm on the red. However, it is always advisable to try the LED combo out on a power supply unit (PSU) where you can set the current and voltage to mimic your setup and then use a potentiometer on the red to get the exact resistor value.
