Thread: New boy!

    Default New boy!

    Hello all!

I'm pretty new to the world of sabers and forums so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm from the UK and picked up a couple of cheap US MHS compatible stunt sabers I found in the UK to customize and add sound too whilst I work on my first build. I'm not wealthy so affording a saber form the USA was out of the question, at least for a while...

I've been employed in metal work for the last 7 years and know a bit of 2D CAD, just been teaching myself Inventor by modelling some of my existing MHS parts. Time to use my new found knowledge to create my own for machining and eventually build my own saber from scratch. I'm not too hot with electronics so any advice on setting up sound boards would be welcome PM's

Welcome to the forums! You've got metalworking experience and access to good tools? You should be able to turn out some nice sabers.

As for the electronics, I'd recommend reading through the different sound board manuals to get an idea of what's involved. There are some basic wiring diagrams in there to get you started.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

We mainly do sheet metal work but have a CNC laser and I know plenty of chaps with machine shops. We also have plenty of polishing and finishing kit and often use powder coaters and anodizers so I can slip bits into some orders too. Been looking forwards to building something new
