Thread: Super Lube Synthetic Grease

    Default Super Lube Synthetic Grease

The webshop of TCSS states you have to buy Super Lube Synthetic Grease. Does CRC 5.56 LUBRICANT SPRAY the same job?

CRC 5.56 is very similar to WD-40. As such, it's good for loosening stuck parts, but it evaporates quickly and does not provide long-term lubrication. For lubricating parts, you want a grease. Lithium grease works fine, as does the stuff from the store. Anything that doesn't evaporate or react with the aluminum should do the job. Check your local automotive parts store for something appropriate.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

I do prefer prefer grease over most lubricant sprays. It stays longer on the threads, and prevents seizing of the parts, in addition to ease on screwing-unscrewing. If you can find some silicone grease, that?ll do the job perfectly fine. I use one called Atmos Robilube (found it locally), and it does the job fine: No squeaking, threads don?t get stuck...

I have used the tcss stuff on a few sabers and have never had a stuck part" I also notice that if you take pieces apart, you will see the greese collects dirt. I clean off the old stuff and reapply from time to time!
