Thread: Shimmer effect for cheap

    Default Shimmer effect for cheap

I watched a video on Youtube of a guy who made an inexpensive shimmer/flicker effect using a dimmable buckpuck and some flashing LEDs:

My knowledge of wiring however is quite basic, and therefore I'm not sure how he wired it. I'd appreciate it if someone could explain it to me. I've never wired a buckpuck before, only resistors. To keep it simple, let's say it a 4 wire puck and there's no separate on/off switch for the flicker effect. Where in the circuit do the flashing LEDs go, on the + and - wires from the battery leading to the puck, or on the + and - wires from the puck leading to the LEDs?

    Thank you for any information.

In the video description, he has a link to his post on FX-sabers that has the wiring diagram and parts list. http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=39299.0
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

    I totally missed that, thanks.
