    ILLUSTRIOUS

This design was something that started as a unique blade holder I bought off of Arkhan back in 2011. I liked the blade holder, but at the time, I didn't have a design in mind. After talking it over with a few friends, I finally had a design inspiration. Later on, I decided to tweak the design to make it a "Ceremonial saber", which is "minimalist", stayed shiny, has golden accents and looks to be rarely ever used.

So without further ado, here is Illustrious:

    The Specs:

    CF 6 V1 w/ CeX and R.I.C.E
    Tri-Rebel R/G/rB
    7.4V 4x14500 battery pack w/ recharge port
    2W Bass speaker
Custom "control panel" accent LED lights

Sound Font - Main blade color / FoC color

    Heirloom (Purple/Magenta) - Madcow
    Iron Inferno (Orange/Yellow)- Noivastar
The Old Republic Jedi Edition Font C (Green/ Light Green)- Nightstorm
    Elemental Ice (Arctic Blue/Blue)- Novastar
    Satori Zen (Gold/Orange)- Novastar
    Calibrate - Madcow

    The Glams:

    Elemental Ice:

    The Old Republic:

    Iron Inferno:

    Heirloom:

    Satori Zen:

    The Video:

At the time, the video was done with a temporary switch installed. Other than that, everything else is exactly the same.

Special thanks to Tim for the custom work on the main body section.

Very sleek. I believe you use the "tactile" switch quite literally, seeing how nicely hidden in plain sight it is.

This is great FJK! That BH is a beast, and it really works with the overall sleek, elegant look of the whole hilt. Also really like the grooves and the placement of the tactile switch!

I've been waiting to see you post a new saber fjk, I am not disappointed. Great work!

I really like the sleekness and simplicity of the design. Sometimes simplicity is elegance.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Part of design is how you handle things like switches, their placement, etc. It's the details like that and the planning ahead which can either make or break a design and its install. I'm fairly sure a few of you have heard that out of me in the past. In almost all of my more recent builds, the switches are either carefully integrated into the design (Illustrious, Traveller) or they are "hidden" within the design (Apex). In a couple of these designs (Traveller, Illustrious), I try to show how everyone can make a fairly simple yet elegant design, without shrouds, 100 blinkies, etc. A fairly simple design, plus a few small accessories or a theme or details, and bam - a nice looking saber.

Those who know me well, know that I go for completely unique designs, and I think these fit that "niche" very well.
