Prototyping, part 3.
Here you can see some sleeve work using Fimo polymer clay. I would like to add that this was pretty easy to pull off...I used beige, white, and translucent white clay. I rolled out the clay, added an unbaked clay shroud to an MHS part, and baked it in the oven. You can find some demos online if you google "faux bone polymer clay". I was worried about durability, but once baked the Fimo clay is pretty tough stuff! Think of a consistency like PVC but with just a little more give.

I'll say this much, the polymer clay offers up some interesting possibilities that are worth exploring! Easily, you could pull off a wood grain finish using clay, and some exotic looking materials...like "duraplast" and "plasteel". There are clays out there which are totally transparent too..."transparasteel" shrouds?

That one pvc part with the etching looks fantastic. Its the closest I have seen to actual bone yet.
