Hi i am making my first lightsaber with sound, and I unfortunately being new at all this even started on the wrong section of the forms. besides that, this is the list of components I am using for the lightsaber.
Seoul P4 Lens Holder
Collimator Lens 5 deg viewing angle
Seoul P4 (Green)
MHS speaker mount V3
16mm Anti Vandal Latching Green Ring Switch
Star thermal tape pad
20mA DynaOhm™ Variable Resistor
4AA Battery holder
Master Replicas Luke Skywalker Sound Board ROTJ 2007

this was my original idea of how to wire the components, however I was deciding on how to wire the led on the switch and was told to wire it parallel to the main led.

I went about wiring the parts the other day and at the end it is apparent that there is an issue. When the lightsabers switch is off, apparently there is still a current going through and the led functions as it would be turned on completely (really bright). when i activate the switch, the led becomes so dim it is barely noticeable. I tested this with the switch led and the same thing happens. I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it so it will function normally. If not, I think i could just wire the led to the battery pack and just have it that way.... I would rather go through the steps of taking the battery pack out and removing/inserting the batteries to make it function than it to always be light up without sound and then no blade when the sound is on... here are some pics of the wiring when i tried to have the led to the switch run parallel

here is some of the soldering i did to make it more simple, just by removing the switch led wiring that was parallel to the main led pos wire (purple) and neg bundle (mix of wires)
