    Default Smart Charger Adapter Wiring

    Does it matter which wire from the "2.1mm plug adapter for smart charger" you solder to the Red wire from the "3.7V-14.8V Li-Ion 1amp Smart charger" and which you solder to the Black wire?

    It does not look like either of the wires on the adapter are labeled +/- as far as I can tell...

    The two parts (charger & 2.1mm plug) should just plug together with the quick disconnect.

    I got the http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/37...rger-P655.aspx one, will that one not work?

    These 2 had the same gender plug on the end so I assumed soldering would be required

    Oh, gotcha. Well, center pin on the plug is the positive. If you have a basic continuity tester you can check which lead on the plug is the positive, and wire that to the positive lead on the charger.

    You should just be able to connect black to black and red to red for the adapter and charger. If for some reason the adapter has the same color wires, then do as GFJedi suggested above.

    Yeah, both wires are black. I'll go ahead and test that way then, thank you!

    Just wanted to figure this out before I wired it up and then tried to charge my battery, I imagine that would not end well haha

    Provided you are using a protected cell, or a PCB on your battery pack, you are reasonably safe. It should cut power before any damage is done.

    If you're using unprotected cells or packs, then Bad Things(tm) can happen.

    Oh okay, well I assume all the Packs sold at TCSS are protected so I should be good then, still need to make sure to wire it the right way when I get home, but at least it wouldn't have exploded or anything. Love the "Bad Things(tm)" though lol

    All the packs are protected. Some of the individual li-ion cells are protected, some are not. If your batteries came with a JST connector on them, then you'll be fine.
