Thread: Ultrasound V2.5 wiring question.

    Default Ultrasound V2.5 wiring question.

    Hi all! I wanted to go ahead and use this as my first "official" post for my first saber build! I have been in the forums for a good long while at this point researching, learning and doing ALOT of reading, but I am in need of a bit of assistance.

    A couple years back I built my saber. I was just using it as a prop on my belt as a secondary saber due to cost restraints, and I have been slowly buying up the electronics I need. I now feel I have everything I need (shy of my PCB and some resistors), but I can NOT for the life of me find a wiring diagram that matches my setup.

    Here is the general "guts" of my saber: http://i817.photobucket.com/albums/z...berinnards.jpg

    Here I have an Ultrasound V2.5 board, a speaker from TCS with a basic battery pack, a Lux 3 Blue LED, a Blue Latching Anti-Vandal Switch, and a recharge port. I have a basic wiring diagram set up, but perusing the internet hasn't yielded much more than broken Photobucket links and URLs. So in short, my questions are:

    -Can I use the battery pack I have for my Li-Ions (2 TrustFire 3.7V AA sized cells) or do I need to incorporate a PCB? Unsure if I need too for 7.2V of power.

    -Does anyone know of good wiring diagram showing solder points for the Ultrasound V2.5 board, or have previous experience doing so?

    -Does the Ultrasound V2.5 board regulate current? Basically I just need to know if I'm going to have to use resistors leading off of the board to the Anti-Vandal and the Lux 3.

    Being my first build, any critiques or input would be greatly appreciated. I am so excited to be at this stage in the building process, but I need to make sure I do it properly, as my electronics knowledge is relatively small, but growing.

    Thank you everyone for the great information you have provided so far! I hope I can pick your brains just a liiiiittle bit more

    I don't know anything about the US board, but I do know a bit about li-ions.

    If your cells are individually protected, you can put them in that holder without trouble. You will not be able to recharge them inside the hilt without a PCB on the battery pack. They'll be fine for recharging if you pull them from your saber first.

    I have had a few US boards and the batteries will be fine that is what I run with mine.
    The wiring is easy the pads on one end are labeled
    sw=switch
    s=sound
    l=LED
    p=power
    on the other end the labels
    l1 and l2 are for accent leds
    one will blink to indicate power and be on when the saber is on the other will only be on when the saber is on
    the main LED will not need a resister can't remember the accent pads V's
    hope this helps

    Thank you both very much for the insight. This gives me more to go on. I am pretty sure I have figured out what I need to do.
