MR soundboard help

So a buddy of mine gave me a master replica saber with sound. I plan on switching the components to another saber hilt. This is one of those three color changing sabers. All the switches for on/ off and color selecting are all on the board. So here are my questions:
I need to know how to remove the slide switch and where to wire in a latching switch for on/off.
Second, is there a way of making it possible to still have the color selection on the outside of the hilt? What switch should I use in place of it?

My problems lie with the switches and taking them from the board and making them external instead. Anyone ever tackle this or have a close up of where and what to wire? This is beyond me knowledge.
