Why do all of these posts have tomorrows date? Sorry off subject, but odd since today is the 11th.

Default LED saber with crystal chamber

This is my first build. I'll post pictures as I progress. The concept is a LED saber with removable blade and cutouts in the hilt exposing the illuminated crystal chamber.

This is the prototype blade construction. I have new, brighter LEDs on the way for the final blade.

This is the initial drawing for my design. There are some changes, but it's basically the same.

This is the hilt so far. The blue and white cut pattern shows where the cutouts will be to see the exposed crystal chamber. I'm using a clear plastic (transparisteel) tube for the crystal chamber to add stability.

Thank you. I'm learning a lot about what works and what doesn't. I'm already looking forward to my next build.

Very nice. It's rather ambitious for a first build, but you appear to be doing quite well. I expect great things from you in the future.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

Thank you. I decided to "go big or go home" on this one. I was heavily influenced by Slothfurnace and wanted to challenge myself. This forum has helped a lot in figuring out how to bring it all together.
