with no sound card a 1000ma buckpuck would do nicely at least that is what I used for almost exactly the same setup

http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz is your friend for calculating resistors.

For the switch, a 270 ohm, 1/4 watt (or higher) resistor is good.
For the Rebel, use a 3.9 ohm, 3.9 watt (or higher).
