Okay, does this look right for the recharge port?

    MWS Diagram 2.jpg

I think I get what you're saying about the AV switch, I just can't wrap my mind around how it's supposed to get wired up.

How do I wire for this...

    NB Accent.jpg

    ...with this?

    AV Switch wiring diag.jpg

Where do I wire in the JST Connector? Where do I wire in the resistor and wires to light the switch when on?

Argh...I hate not having a better grasp on this.

Notice on your AV switch, how there are 4 terminals. Two of them are for the switch LED, and the other two are for the switch itself. You have to wire up all four terminals.

Look at your accent LED diagram. Connect the red wire to the LED+ on your switch, and connect the blue wire to your LED- on your switch. Then just hook up the other two terminals to a JST and plug that into the switch JST on the NB. Polarity doesn't matter for the switch, so don't fret about red and black wires for the switch itself.

As for your recharge port, it still needs a bit of work. You've got yours rotated 90 degrees from the diagram I use. I'll give you directions to fix your diagram.

    1. You split the black wire on your battery pack, this is good.
    2. Connect the black wire closest to the JST to the bottom terminal on your recharge port.
    3. Connect the black wire closest to the battery pack to the right terminal on your recharge port.
    4. Split the red wire on the battery pack, then connect BOTH ends to the top terminal on your recharge port.

Your recharge port should function correctly if you do follow these steps.

Tried all the steps you mentioned, still couldn't get the saber to fire up.

I'm terrified I fried the blade LED, because I thought it lit blue for a milisecond, and then nothing. But the AV switch LED wouldn't light at all, so who the hell knows.

I'll take photos of my giant mess tonight and post it up. Maybe you all can see where I'm going wrong.

    Yes, pics will help.

You're not going to blow a Rebel Blue with a single li-ion, no matter how you wired it. The switch LED can get blown if you don't resist it. But some detailed pics will help.

My other problem might be I've got a MWS NB adapter just sitting on the NB board. I haven't soldered it into place yet, and was there just to test the electrics.

Maybe there really isn't a connection yet.

Wicked nervous about soldering the board. Those holes are really close together...

    I'll get pics up tonight.

Fine point tip on your soldering iron, and a narrow gauge solder. Magnifying lens, helping hands, and PATIENCE. You'll get there.

Since it wasn't soldered, I'm gonna go ahead and assume that is the reason your LED isn't lighting.

You may be correct. Who knows?

For what it's worth, I wired up my first saber with a PC 2.0 in it. I used a fine conical tip on the soldering iron and .015" diameter solder from Radio Shack. If you are worried about bridging the ports, get some of this solder. You'd have to feed in like 4-5" of it to get a big nasty blob. It can be a little inconvenient when you need a lot of solder, but it's great if you want to be careful. You'll be fine! If I can solder, you can solder.

    Okay, here's what I've got...

    100_2044.jpg

Odd thing, when I've got the power seeming to go through the thing, the AV switch is constantly on. The Kill key kills it, but why is it constantly on? How do I wire it to get the damn thing to only light when it's "on"?

And why isn't the Blade LED lighting?

Any times would be appreciated... =\

Umm, you've got that wired all wrong.

Holding the NB with the wiring harness on the right (as in your first picture), the JST plugs should be from top to bottom:
    1. Battery
    2. Main LED
    3. Momentary Switch
    4. Speaker.

The AV switch will always be on if you wire it to the accent pad. To make it come on with the main blade only, you'll need to wire it in parallel with the blade LED. You'll also need a different resistor.
