First of all: Greetings from austria
Several weeks ago I found this shop and forum while browsing through the web to find a shop where I could get a fx lightsaber. But after I found this site, i kind of got addicted to the thought of building my own saber. And so I spend a lot of time reading threads and getting inspiration.
But the built of this saber was more or less a nightmare, due to my inexperience with working on aluminium, my nearly 30 year old drill, my impatience and various other things. Because of that I had to reorder some items twice, which is not really funny with international shipment and customs duty. To make it short: I had some really bad luck, but therefor I found a suiteable name for my first saber.
Misfortune Star
may it bring bad luck upon its enemies and not its wielder
Components:
- Petit Crouton Sound Module
- Blade holder style 13
- 2 ribbed extension v-grooved
- 3" Double female threaded connector
- Pommel style 8
- AV style momentary switch
- Activation box style 8
- Luxeon Rebel Star (cyan)
- Trans White Show blade
- ...
The hilt is about 40cm (15.75inch) long, together with the blade it's about 130cm (51,18inch). I intended to build a two handed saber, so it got a little longer but due to my own height it fits quite well.
Here the first pictures of my saber:
And here a link to the album: http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/34567...saber?h=999975
I know I have to rework some details but overall I am really happy with my first saber.
The last thing I want to say is "thank you!" Thanks to all of you that post here, I was able to finish my saber.
