    Default Greetings from Pennsylvania...

    Hello guys and gals,

I've been doing lightsaber stage combat choreography for nearly 4 years now with three different clubs and own three sabersmith-made sabers.

Doing it for that long, well, I still wouldn't call myself a master. Maybe a Knight. Experienced somewhat. Who knows what others would call me... ("a bloody nuisance!" )

I figured it was about time I created an account on here. Maybe I'll be able to learn enough to repair my own sabers, rather than relying on others.

I also post quite frequently at http://www.saberwars.com and quasi-regularly on other saber enthusiast forums that may very well not be able to be mentioned here.

I don't know how often I'll be over here, but I will at least be lurking...

Welcome aboard, and please enjoy your stay. Building your own lightsaber is a wonderful and rewarding experience. Expensive too (though you've already purchased 3, so you know about that part). My advice to you is to read, read, and read some more. Almost every question you have (or will have) as a saber smith has probably been asked here at least once.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before... you want blindingly bright, super loud, running 1138 blinkies off of the cheapest sound card you can find AND you want all of it to run on a battery the size of a dime, and run for a very, VERY long time. That one cracks me up every time..."

Said, what they did, I do, yes! Take your time and develop a design that works for you. After the work you've put into learning teh craft and using other's sabers you should have a great base to know what you're looking for. Above all, have fun!
