Default Trouble with p4, I know it sounds pathetic.

I'm trying to overdrive a red p4 with a 1000mah buck puck. I know the led needs 3v@800mah and the buckpuck needs at least 5v to kick off. So if I put 6 AA's to it do i still have to resistor it coming out of the buckpuck? I really don't know how these buckpuck work, but i'm guessing that whatever voltage you put through it comes out the other end, but limits the mah. Any help?

    No resistor needed.

6 AA's is overkill. 4 will do just fine. As stated by TD-2272, you do not need a resistor...that's what the puck is for.
