lol, I kind of mentioned it as an example, but since someone asked about it... let's get this forum on a roll.

I'll dig up this thread from the DBW I saw that showed an awesome PVC Windu. Anyone with the patience can pull off some amazing stuff with PVC.

pvc is great, but i got to noticing in the cantina the other day while helping someone out on an emitter problem that no one has thought of fiberglass! you can build any shape to form from the imagination and its cheap, doesnt take much to learn, and its quite strong... im about to start my first glass project, rotj luke and i think ill be able to get an exact replica of the movie prop and still have room for electronics and sound without spending 250.00 on parts, ill post up when its done and let everyone give they're opinions

PVC really is fun to work with. I did a ton of PVC props before I even knew there was all this cool stuff. the trick is to go slow.
High speed on a dremmel or drill will melt the stuff instead of cutting it.

yeah, I had seen that somewhere. I have a variable speed dremel that can do it plus a smaller slower one that I used once on some pvc to make a grip for a saber with no problems........

I have my favorite Dremel bit that's great for carving the edges of PVC.

I used it to carve the curves in the PVC emitter shroud on my first hardware EL saber that I built back in 2002.

Yes, it's really an EL saber.

Thanks. I built that one long before this forum existed and there were any tutorials in existance, so I had to figure it out for myself.

Not bad for a girl, huh?
