Default Initial Saber Design - See anything that will make me fail?

Hey guys, here's the saber I mocked up in the MHS builder.

Anything you see in the build here that is destined to fail?

Edit: Per suggestion of members I've shortened the saber considerably.

Nothing that would fail as such, nice design but a little long for my tastes

Yeah, it's almost 16 inches, but I also have gigantor hands, so I hope it will work out okay. I just worry that when I'm costuming with it, it might be a bit too long and smack me in the kneecap.

You look like you've got a very simple, straight-forward design there.

Personally, IMHO, it's a little on the long side. I might consider either dropping the choke completely, or switching out Hilt style 4 for a 4" or 5" double female threaded end section and have Tim machine the same grip section on to that. That would bring your overall length down to the 12" or 13" range and still leave you with more than a enough room for whatever electronics you decide to go with.

I've made a revision to the saber design like you suggested Arryck, comes in at 12.5 inches now. Had to photoshop the ridges on the blade handle but it has the same idea as the first.

Here's a render I came up with real quick. Wasn't sure if you were going Sith or not?!? But I know Tim could help you with this.

Has all the same parts you originally used.... I just inserted a 5" double female instead of Hilt style 4. Plus I went with some contrast in your choke section.

Here's a render that's a little more polished. A small shroud around the blade holder helps to balance out the front and back of the hilt. I added a AV switch with bezel and a covertech clip....approximately.

That's a really nice looking saber. I'll be waiting for some pictures of the finished product.
Honey, you've been looking for love in Alderaan places!
