New mini push button or momentary switch option.

I have this in my other thread but I thought it was useful enough to stand on its own.

Last night after about 3 hours of internet searching I found this:


Its a DPDT mini key switch that comes in on/off and momentary versions. The best thing about it is the size. its only 6mm x 6mm square and 14mm high. This switch will fit anywhere. Its great because sometimes you just don't have room with batteries inside a hilt for a switch.

The swtich is also available in a 7mm x 7mm and a 8.2mm x 8.22mm. Really versatile! 6 posts to solder to! The works! []

I like those the trick is the mounting. Maybe some pics of how that hilt of yours is designed for the switch would be sweet.

Exactly, those are meant for computers so mounting is the issue. I was looking at those exact ones but balked when mounting came to mind.

Its mounted into a tiny liped tube thats seated in the side of the hilt.




I damaged the outside of the tube with my prying tool though this will not show up when the brass button is glued to the top of the switch. Its a really neat design in that it doesn't invade the saber compartment save for the solder plugs.

Interesting. I wonder if there would be a way to create that setup on a regular basis. I am guessing that the button mounts or glues on the switch? The base of the switch sits on the lip and I am guessing the wall of the tube matches to the corners of the switch to keep it tight. Very Interesting.

Yo uare right james, its a brass button machined out to fit the switch and the lip perfectly. all you would need though is to have a hole to glue it on. I'm sure that it could be replicated because this is one heck of a nice switch.

I mounted a similar switch by using a peice of plastic pipe (or poly-c blade material) inside the saber. The hole in the saber allowed the switch to "plug into" the plastic pipe.

Can someone help me read this wiring schematic? Its on page 15 of the PDF and its the MHPS2266. I want to know if I have to wire it to the 1 or 2 as it shows. I want it to be a single on/off push button.

The thing that confuses me is the solid verus dotted lines. Thanks.

Looks to me like your IN wire goes to #1 and your OUT goes to #2 (or the other way around - doesn't matter).

TY MC. Since I bought two I decided to test it. One is an open connection (off) when the button is out, the other is on when the button is out. So thats nice depending on how you want to activate your saber. And with one of each side there are tons of things you can do []
