Default Power Level Indicator (PLI) and Petite Crouton(PC)

    Hello everybody,

i want to use a pli with a PC. I also use a kill key.
Everything wired like in the PC manual. only the pli + to the board and battery+ and the pli - to the board -.

    Here is my problem.

I want the pli to always show the battery level. When i pull the kill key everythings works fine. PLI works great. but when i ignite the saber the pli drops down to last led.
Is there a way so that the pli always shows the battery level, either the saber is on or not?

    thank you!

I may be off here but hook it in to battery + & - to keep it out of the board circuit. As far as on all the time (during charging too?) I would thing you'd need to run a line from Recharge Port Green to PLI Neg.

No. A PLI will show the supply voltage drop under load. Batteries with more capacity will drop less under load. 14500s can drop a lot with a full setup.

How much drop would you see in a pair of 18650's? I'm curious, cause I'm about to try the same thing...

Sunrider is spot-on. There's not a lot you can do about it. When it is under load, it will drop. When you idle it will go back up. That's just the nature of the PLI. Bigger batteries will show less of a drop but it will still fluctuate.

@Boj - his wiring is correct. You want the PLI to shut-off when the kill key is in (power is cut to the board)

Thanks. I tried it with a pack of Nimhs @2500mah. There everythings just fine.
But thats not idle for a petit crouton, isn't it?

Thank you for the info, gentlemen. I'm planning the same for my two handed saber so it's good to know how the PLI reacts.
