Maul kit wont fit?

Hey everyone. i'm trying to convert my maul pair that i've got with a TCSS kit, and as i'm trying to get everything back into the hilt after its all wired and such, i can't seem to get the conversion kit to fit ito the hilt all the way. The spot for the switch rotar is a few CM's too short. In fact, when lined up outside the hilt, the conversion kit sticks out beyond where the emmitter ends. It's an 06 so it should be the same year the kit was made for, no idea why mine is too large and i have no idea what else i can do? any help? i have 2 different kits, and both are too large. do i just have a weird hilt? it was one of the ones that came in the full length kit.

managed to get it all together. i ended up cutting away the plastic casing around the top of the board and managed to tuck it up into the threaded section just enough to fit it. it doesn't make contact with the kit so it shouldn't short and haven't had any issues. not the ideal conversion but it works.
