Default "Azaz'el" A Custom MHS Based Crystal Focus 5.10 Saber

    Greetings Saberfolks.

It is with great pride Calvary Custom Sabers presents the most recent custom off the bench.

This saber was commissioned by a fellow FXsabers member (skalekot). When he approached me for a MHS custom, he wanted something old, weathered, and Sith inspired. He also wanted it to look like it have been left in a trash pile for a couple hundred years. It is not often I do a Sith saber, and even rarer I weather hilts. But, we settled on a solid design we both liked, and with the description in hand, I went to work.

When I first thought of an old saber left in the trash, my mind immediately referenced Raxus Prime, the waste planet of Star Wars. After looking at pics of the planet from video games and comics I began to get a good idea of what I needed to do. The weathering style is done with a combination of water, aluminum black, steel wool, powdercoat, and some other things. It turned out perfect... If I do say so myself.

Some other features this saber includes is a open crystal chamber with real Smoky Quartz, a custom 7 segment SMD LED bargraph, and a LEDeningine 10W RGBA with FOC.

this saber was a challenge to build, but the end result was definetely worth it.

    So, without further Ado...

    I present Azaz'el.

Aged, but not beat up. I'm really digging the weathering on this one. Looks like it just got left outside for a long time. Very nice work indeed.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.
