Thread: Size for a Yoda Saber?

Default Size for a Yoda Saber?

I've been playing with the MHS ordering trying to get a basic shape and I think it’s very possible it’s just the length of the hilt that seems to be the question. The smallest hilt you can make is 5.75 inches which when paired with a 24" blade will look funny. You can also make an 8.25 hilt which will look much better with the 24" or 26" blade and is about the right ratio of hilt to exposed blade length. Can I cut down the blade to say 20" for the sake of "realism?"

Obviously with small size come restrictions on what you can fit in the hilt. Can a 5.75 " hilt even fit electronics to power the LED? I know sound would be out of the option.

Sound isn't out of the realm of possibility... You'll just have to go past the norm to do it.

Yoda's in "real life" (VD saber) is 6". The CGI is 7".

I'd go with a 3w green LED and a single Sub C size 3.6v Lithium Ion rechargeable battery. That would all fit easily.

Where are you getting those numbers? I've been looking all over, the best I could come up with was the .45 replica is about 3" long. so the full size should be just over 6"

The real Praco flash used to create the saber for the visual dictionary is around 6". Thay added another inch to the CGI version because they felt they could keep more detail at that size.

The easiest "source" for those numbers would be the card in the Yoda LE.
