Maybe more like a crown or the top of a guard tower on a castle.

The notched battlement on top of a tower is called "crenelation".

That's your word for the day.

I couldn't resist throwing that in, since I knew what the word was. It's not like I get to use it every day. It's hard to work into a conversation. :P

My brain is full of nearly useless crap like that.

Last night, as a test, I cut some 8mm wide strips of textured urethane and wrapped them around the circumference of the MHS straight section on the raised bands. I think it is going to look good, with the colored grooves, the polished bands peeking out and the black texturing. It seems pleasing to the eye and vastly improves the grip.

Now on to the emitter.

There is a hobby store here in town that sells a bunch of metal profiles, rods and assorted shapes that the architecture and engineering students use. I know they carry aluminum, so maybe I could find something there to use that would look nice.
