I just completed another PVC build. A coworker saw the saber that I made for my nephew and wanted one for a friend. I had played around a little with the design work and came up with this. The PVC wrap didn't seam to my liking so I decided to wrap the handle area instead and actually like that style much more than the faux leather.
This one has a Seoul P4 blue, using a basic LED kit from TCSS. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to get very detailed pictures so these were taken with my phone, which is probably why they look so bright.

I'm using Schedule 40. I found a local chain that has thinner walled pipe that might work as a sheath if I don't go past the emitter, but it's much more expensive. I've also cut a sink pipe as a sheath that worked out pretty well when mounted over the PVC pipe. The only issue I have had with the schedule 40 is fitting a battery pack. I can't use the AAA packs that Tim offers so I create a sled and mount two double AAA packs nose to tail and they fit perfectly. The two packs will need to be wired in series, but it works really well.
Needless to say, i have a few extra 4 cell AAA packs kicking around.

I love how simple and elegant your designs look, because I know they are not simple to make! Really nice PVC sabers!

I almost didn't believe that this was a PVC saber. Great build!
