Didn't someone post about the difficulty in soldering on the MR LED strip?

Something about a wax on it, and very small connections...
    Edit 2: Found it! linky

Someone else also posted up with their own version of the MR strip using only LEDs, and some resistors. He soldered all the LEDs in a row with a resistor in-line of each LED. I'm not sure how well it worked, but the theory behind it, I thought, was very good.

Maybe you should look into doing that.

The leds on the MR strip do not have any coating on them, the only place they use any type of a coating is where the wires attach to the led strip at the base of the blade.

You must desolder first cause MR uses some kind of wax or flux that is a bear to get off. Once the area is free of the original stuff it's no problem to …

HI: I've used the Anakin-Vader lightsaber sound board from Hasbro for my first building attenmpt, but I fried the board. But the original saber has a disc with six leds on it (3 red and 3 blue)so if I can find those UV leds maybe I could attach them to that disc and make one nice Mace saber...what do you think?

Good call. that should work out nice. You will have to bypass the switch so they all light up though

or you could just make it so the red and blue go on at the same time. red and blue make purple don't they?

Red overpowers the blue which is why they went the other way on the Windu.

Would it be possible to get a dimmed red and bright blue on a RGB LED then mount another blue in place of the green and allow it to be like a 2.5 W or something like that? like 2Ws of Blue and .5 of red or balance it some other way?
