So, if I'm going to order "Type One Grip Material" and the machining to install it from inside out, do I want to order a Type One main body with that?

"They are sold in one 4" section but can easily be cut down to whatever size you want."

In short you can order whatever part you want to mill grips into so long as it meets all the requirements, Such as: must be 0.7" away from any female threads. In fact you can have different length sizes on 1 piece but you need to contact Tim for that.

In a not completely related question, what's the interior diameter of the Type 3 Choke? Will the new 18650 battery pack fit inside? (not length; I see that it's longer. Diameter).

No, it won't fit. The interior diameter of choke style 3 is 3/4", and the 18650 pack is 1" in diameter,
