Latching Switch problems
Hey Guys, just checking to see if anyone has ever had a latching switch that stopped latching??
Mine (DPDT Latching illuminated switch) was working at first, but after I re-soldered some wires it stopped latching.
The switch works(and the LED in it), it just wont latch.
Anyone know of a way to fix this??
Thanks in advance,
The Yin

Taking apart the switch usually damages it beyond repair, and you'll likely not be able to fix it anyway without replacement parts, which I doubt you'll be able to find anywhere. There are at least two options for you...one is to replace the switch. The other is to add a Pololu momentary to latching pcb converter board, or a Lighthound keychain flashlight pcb. The flashlight pcb works well if you're using a soundboard like an MR/Hasbro FX, but it can't handle the current load if you have a stunt saber. For a stunt, you'd need the pololu board with the correct rating.
for the lighthound flashlight pcb tutorial, look here: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...ght=Lighthound
For the Pololu, here: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...mentary+switch

Then I have my answer. Thank you
I'm building two sabers right now(actually 4, 2 for me, 2 for my sister). And I plan on adding sound in the future, so the momentary switch would be needed any.
thanks for the help.
