Oh really about the powder coating sending it backness. I had actually added that to my cart online i just forgot to put it in my list thanks though!! Im glad you mentioned that because maybe i wont do it until hes seen it sense its permanent and all.

Also thanks about the MHS builder, as Garrek said I did post a picture. I don't want to get him to play around with it because he'll figure out his gift haha. thanks though

and obi wan thanks so much for the links! you didn't have to do that! but it did make my life easier haha i was a little confused I think ive got all those now!

sorry.. (harmless plug for the MHS builder than anyways!) LOL

and to add a bit of caution.. I 'would' think about power coating things before you get it done.. certain parts if powered coated will not line up exactly the same anymore.

so if you buy your parts.. have the holes drilled..

    sent to you..

decide later you want pc main body and/or blade holder..etc..

it 'could' affect the hole alignment for, say, the blade retention screw and main switch holes for example..

its better to tell Tim before hand so he can make sure things line up.

also putting on power coat and have certain place machined down to reveal the aluminum again gives a great/custom look to any build. =)
the powder coating option in the MHS builder gives some good ideas.

You don't have to appoligize!. and okay thank you very much for your advice!
I just have one last question, fenderbender did the math nd figured out i need 24ohms 1/4w resistor. they don't sell an exact resistor with those specifications so do I go for the same wattage and go higher in ohms? or lower? http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Resistors-C19.aspx

higher, higher is the safer way. it may limit the brightness a little but won't hurt the electronic parts.

Crystal Chambers informed me in another thread that I was mistaken about MR boards not being able to drive an led.

I thought I should let you know as well, sorry about that.

Regular hardware stores will sometimes carry the c-clips. I don't know the exact size to get, but my local Ace carries them. The proper tool for installing it is pair of snap-ring pliers, though fine-tipped needle nose pliers will work in a pinch. Wear eye protection when you do this! If it pops out before you have it properly seated, you could get injured.

I think some people have even used o-rings in place of snap rings/c-clips

No problem, least I could do was correct my misinformation.
For C clips... a fast google search says...yes? maybe?
I would honestly have no clue how to go about finding one in the right size though.

I assume your asking about powder coating black?
Here's a thread with some examples of the powder coating on actual parts.

It depends on what your looking for though.
Matte black is going to be flat,dull,..I guess plasticish looking.
Wet black will look glossy, sort of like wet paint or dried lacquer.
Black wrinkle is...kinda like foam maybe? lol no clue really on that one.
Then Black chrome looks like it would look like black/anodized metal.

I've used a paperclip. It worked reasonably well, and was removable without any trouble.

I've since replaced the paperclip with a c-clip. It's a decent temporary solution, but I wouldn't keep it there long-term.
