    Here's what I've got, Look quick if you like.


    For Lightsaber (mostly electronics)

    RadioShack:
    330 ohms 1/4w resistor for LED switch

    TCSS:
    Premium 9V connector
    Covertec Clip
    3/4" D-Ring
    Rebel Star LED & MHS Heatsink Module
    LED "Corbin style" Battle blade 1" OD (38")
    BuckPuck 1000mA 6-wire
    Green LED indicator (maybe)
    DPDT Momentary blue illuminated switch
    2 Wire quick connector
    6 Wire quick connector
    Activation box style 5 (maybe)
    Bezel for illuminated switches (maybe)
    1/8” heatshrink tubing

    Screws:
    8-32 x 1/4" Set screw
    6-32 socket screw (for activation box)
    Miscellaneous screws (TBD)


    I just want to make sure I have what I need to power up my blade.
    The hilt itself is mostly done already

    Well, a couple questions are in order:

    What are you going to use to power the saber? Please don't say a 9v battery. They're not a good power source for high-drain applications (like high powered LEDs). If you just want cheap alkalines, I'd recommend using 4 AAAs for 6v. It'll run your saber LED just fine.

    Also, you have a momentary switch for your saber and no sound board. Do you intend to hold the button down to keep the blade lit? If not, you will want a latching switch.

    Well I was um, yeah, sooooo.
    No 9v then. In that case I would like to use rechargeable AA batteries. Should I use 6 NiMH, for a total of 7.2v, or would 4 at 4.8v be good enough.
    What would you recommend for a rechargeable battery setup?

    Thanks for the catch on the switch. I just finished a PC case modding project, so I should have thought that one out.

    If you're going rechargeable, I'd recommend a pair of li-ions for 7.2v. You need a minimum of 5v to run the buckpuck. If you switched to a resistor setup instead of the puck, you could easily get by with 4 NiMH.

    Also, what color LED are you going with? The rebel reds (and other warm colors) have a tendency to burn out at 1000mA. Green/blue (and other cool colors) work fine at that current.

    I plan on having one royal blue, one amber and one cyan.
    looking at the Luxeon Star info again, it looks like every thing but white should be 700mA.

    Per your recommendation, I want to get the Li-Ion 14500 Rechargeable AA size 3.7V 800mAh batteries.

    So what if I ran with this?:
    Buckpuck 700mA
    TrustFire All-in-One Charger
    2 (or maybe 4) Li-Ion 14500
