The crystal chambered claymore: The Sunburst
Hello fellow saber builders. To continue with my tradition of longer hilts (about 16 inches), I give you the crystal chamber Sunburst. It is painted bright orange and metalic red. I have a MR Maul board, red P4, illuminated switch, and 3 red indicator leds. I cut out a ribbed/grooved extension with a dremel to make the crystal chamber. It has a real crystal that looks like it has been shattered inside, which gives it a very nice look. I cut the custom claws out of chromed aluminum. I have a 4 AAA pack powering the illuminated switch and the red P4. The 3 red indicator leds (1 by the switch, 2 in the crystal chamber), are powered by a 9V.
I put a 40 inch blade in this hilt to duel with, and it is like fighting with a scottish claymore. It has a real nice feel to it. Let me know your thoughts, opinions, or if you have any questions. Everyone keep building and having a great time with it. Can't wait for the celebration this year, already have my tickets, and I live about an hour and a half from Orlando. Hope to see all of you there. Thanks for your feedback.

Woah! You weren't kidding about it being long. Even for a claymore. I've never thought of claymores being any longer then the average 2 handed sword.

The claymores I have seen, along with the ones I have hanging on display, the hilts run about 2 and a half to 3 hands in length. It does make them a little easier to use since the long blades make them a little top heavy.

Interesting idea for the blade holder...
Yub Yub Commander.

Them some big hands though. lol. I have to agree I like what you did with the emitter too. It really suits a long sith hilt.
