Hey everyone! Finished up my second saber build. It's my first with sound. On that note...for better or worse, sound is supplied by an...alternate soundboard. I explain it in the video more thoroughly, but that is not why I posted the saber. I wanted to show off the MHS hilt that I modified and the custom pieces that I made for it! I'm really happy with how the details of the hilt came out. Anyway, the video explains the rest (be warned, it's long...), but here's the specs:

    MHS hilt with custom machining
Rebel Cyan running just inside of direct driven
    8.7 degree lens
    Obsidian v1
    TCSS Regal Speaker
    Single Li-Ion 3.7v 2600mah 18650 w/ in-hilt recharge
    Blue AV Switch
Red Accent blinky in hilt window
Custom machined Brass knurled kill key
Custom machined Brass "3D" pommel insert
    Custom machined J-Saber33 D-ring clip

    Pics
    (are clicky!)

    I appreciate any comments guys!

A note: In hindsight, I definitely think I'd prefer blade effects. For this and other reasons, I'm planning a PC build for early next year (already picked up a 1.5 )

The weathing on the choke and in the grooves seems off as the rest of the hilt looks unweathered. Other than that, nice hilt. I like the custom lathed and milled grooves. Nice reverse "electric rotary shaver head" blade plug.

Looking good, J! I'd say a little weathing on your shroud would be good too. I like the milled slots and your solution for a Kobold Ring. Keep up the good work!

Nicely done! I like the grooving as well as the belt clip...

Like most of my other posts, I'm gonna ask you to divulge your secrets... How did you make the brass on the sink tube look antiqued like you did?
