Default My First Saber Build 'VENOMOUS'

    Hey all

Im going to be starting my first build today as all my items came today from TCSS

Any way just a bit of the idea for the saber, i want it to have a nice agressive look and feel but still trying to keep a Old repblic feel.

So here are just some of the parts i will be using:

    Body
    5" Fluted double female threaded
    MHS ribbed extension v-grooved
    blade holder style 10
    MPS Pommel style 8
    MPS Insert style 1
    Activation box style 2
    MHS Sleeve material

    Electrics
    Petit Crouton Sound Module
    SPST orange dot Illuminated switch
    Luxeon Rebel Star (Red-Orange)
    TrustFire Protected 3.7V 2400mAh running 7.4v

Thanks to the people who helped check my wiring im ready to wire up the board tonight

Ill post pics of the parts and progress ass i go please feel free to give me your feedback good or bad

    Parts

    PC wired up,Battery,Recharge and speaker

    Hilt

So far only really getting the wiring done and trying to jam it all in there

Also the sound seems to be a little low i look at the memory card and its set to 4 so full and the led seems to me not as bright as i would like any thoughts ?

    Thanks

    UPDATE***

Ok so its been awhile but i finally got a day that i could do nothing but work on my saber and here is the finished product.

So i spent the entire day building this the longest time was spent making the cradle to hold the wiring the problem was the 2 different types of inside diameters made for a fun time.

The over lays turned out well very happy next tim ill try a bit more shap to them but very good for a first time try.

So in the end i decided on the shatterpiont font from Madcow and a great Boot from Alex Gordon he does great work.

Big Thanks to the members who have sharred thier wealth of knowledge and time.

Please give me all the feedback you can as i wish to learn what i need to do to improve.

Looks great man I can't wait to see the sleeve work. I'm not shure I just wired up my 2nd pc both are pretty loud.... Hmmmm you might need to over drive the led, BUT before you do that remember LEDs always look brighter in bids and pics.

I think I'm gonna make that my sig line, lol... LEDs ALWAYS look brighter in vids and pics... Make sure you ignite your saber in the late hours just as the sun sets... Anyway, nice design and I, too, will be looking forward to seeing your shroudwork...

If all your connections are good, and the batteries are fully charged, then your volume issue is probably resonance. It makes a HUGE difference. The premium speaker isn't particularly loud sitting on the bench, but once you get it set up properly in a hilt, it gets impressive.

Lots of good info in that thread.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

Nice. I like the white. An overlay could really put it over the top. Good advice guys. Reducing your extra wire in the hilt helps a little too. It all adds up. You'd be surprised at how a few holes in your upper hilt can make the pommel louder. Maybe some sound venting that leaks out from under your overlay. That way you can hide the extra holes under it.

Thanks for the feedback guys i found that my blade was not finished so i have added some blade wrap today and its about twice as bright and holds a very nice core effect.

The sound i have done a few tests on and seem to have got it load with out sounding strange it has a very nice sharp soud to it but the test will be when i throw Korriban sond font on it.

ill be making holes under the overlays to se e how that works but they will not be seen so im happy with that.

Hopefully i can get time tomorrow to start and finish the overlays

Nicely done! Love your sleeve/shroud ideas! Too sithy for me, but still very attractive!
